3 Ways to Layer a Striped Top in the Winter

A striped top is a must in any wardrobe. It is a great layering piece that adds interest no matter the season– a striped tank in the summer, a tee in the spring, and a long sleeve in the fall & winter.
I think the most versatile colors are black (or dark navy!) and white but you could choose whatever colors go best with your wardrobe. I picked up this one at Walmart & it is all sold out at this point, but I will link similar options as a striped long sleeve top is fairly easy to find.

I will be layering this striped top three different ways but keeping the base the same–striped top, straight leg jeans, & sock booties.

This first look is certainly “on-trend”–layering using a shirt jacket, or shacket, as the kids are calling them these days. I really love the shacket trend because I live in Northern NY where it is COLD, so an extra warm layer that is also cute works great! This one is from Amazon and has been one of my favorite shackets to style all winter long!

This second look has a crew neck sweatshirt layered over the striped top. It’s comfy, it’s cute, it’s casual. What more could you want? This cute one from amazon has a tulip hem (easier to see when I link it below) & is a great color.

The third look is a classic–a cardigan and stripes is a tale as old as time. I love a good cardigan outfit & even better if it’s neutral tones. Mine is old, but I linked a bunch of tan/taupe options below.

Which look is your favorite?
Do you like to layer or is it too bulky for you?

Three Crewneck Sweatshirts You Won’t Want to Take Off this Winter

I am ALL ABOUT being comfy and cozy & wearing what feels comfortable– especially in the cold winter. For me, crewneck sweatshirts have been a staple this year. I know a lot of people also put a turtleneck under them & I think that’s such a cute look that I just haven’t tried yet.

These three crewneck sweatshirts are ones that I have bought & I find myself reaching for over and over again this winter. They’re cute, comfy, & keep you warm, while also feeling stylish & cute! Win!

I will link everything using affiliate links at the bottom of this post. This means I earn a small commission if you choose to purchase something using these links. There will be no additional cost to you! Thanks for your support! πŸ™‚

This first sweatshirt is a Henley crewneck from Madewell. It is such a cutie & fleece lined; so it’s very warm and cozy! It comes in a few other colors. I sized up to a small & it fits boxy, so I would definitely suggest sizing up.

This tulip hem crew neck is such a fun twist on a sweatshirt. In this picture it is a bit tough to see the hem, but when I link it below you can see what I mean. It comes in a bunch of colors and is so cute for layering!

This is the classic Hanes crewneck– Fleece lined as well and just so cozy. The wrists run a tad tight, so size up if that will bother you. It also comes in a bunch of colors and is usually on sale for $13 or less!

Are you a fan of crewneck sweatshirts? Which one is your favorite?

My Favorite Coats this Winter (and how they work in my wardrobe)

I picked up a few new coats this winter because the ones I have are older (& I still love them!) but I was looking for a few different ones to fill some holes in my wardrobe.

I found three different coats that all work for different purposes for me and I’m sharing them today! I outline below my favorite ways to wear each coat.

As always, I link via Liketoknow.it using affiliate links & I appreciate you using them to shop. When you use my links I make a very small commission & use it to keep creating content. Thank you!

This first coat is a creamy white color & purchased it from Gap. It comes in a few other great colors & petite & tall sizes as well. I bought it on sale for around $60 & it’s a great coat. It has a flap that covers your bum so it’s great with leggings without being a super long coat. I love wearing it for running errands because it’s not too hot in stores!
This coat is made out of recycled materials & is the most lightweight coat of the three. I would suggest layering underneath with a sweater or sweatshirt for extra warmth.

I was SO excited about this coat because I’ve been wanting one this color for awhile now (I think this color is sold out, but there are multiple other color options & the olive green and dark malbec wine color look great too!). I was able to purchase this one on sale too, for around $49– It’s a great quality coat from Columbia. I have other older coats from Columbia as well and they’re all really nice coats & have held up for years. It’s a great neutral color (for me anyway, ha!) that isn’t white or black & it definitely keeps me warm and cozy. The sleeves have an elastic on the wrist so it’s great for keeping snow out. The only thing I would change is I wish the hood was removable– but I still absolutely love it. The double zipper is also nice for mobility! I like to unzip the bottom part when driving or moving around a lot (skiing, sledding, building snowmen πŸ˜‰
I wear this one for errands as well, but also out in the snow for sledding/skiing/etc!

This coat is from Chicwish & on the pricier side, but it’s a good one. It’s obviously the dressiest option & SO pretty! The fur hood is super fun & the fur part is actually removable so I could wear it as a scarf if wanted. The color is a nice creamy white & I look forward to wearing this one for dressier occasions this winter (church, winter wedding, date night, etc!). It looks so nice zipped up and the button collar & front pockets add to the charm.

Which coat is your favorite? I really can’t choose because they are all so good!
