4 Fall-Like Outfits for When It’s Still Warm Out

It’s been a really warm fall, so I’ve had to get creative with what I’m wearing. I want to wear clothing that keeps me cool, but also want to dress for fall, so the way I do that is by dressing in fall tones and colors, while keeping the layers lightweight and the outfits comfy and breathable.

Burnt orange is a great fall color, but it will forever be one of my favorite colors to wear for ALL seasons🧡

Here are four cute fall outfits I’m wearing as we transition into fall. Save for when you want to dress fall-like but it’s still warm out✨

Outfit 1: an orange babydoll top + denim shorts

This top is such a cutie (I’ve owned it in lime green for a year now) and I love it paired with denim shorts. It’ll be equally as cute with jeans as it gets chillier!

Outfit 2: a denim tank + orange linen pants

When it’s still warm but you want to look fall-like, linen pants are a great option! I styled these pants with this denim tank that I have been loving all summer long.

These shorts are another piece I’ve been wearing over and over all summer long! I love the color and I love paring them with a button up—today’s choice is this denim one.

Outfit 4: a denim mini skirt + tall boots

One of my favorite combos for fall is a mini skirt and tall boots. It’s so classic and you can style it a bunch of different ways! I loved using a tank and silk neck scarf for this look. I added a cardigan to show it for chillier weather!

5 Barn Jacket Outfits For Fall

I didn’t buy a barn jacket last year because most of the ones I saw were tan (or green) and I wanted something that would work well with a good variety of my shoes (mostly brown or black). When Old Navy came out with this one this year, I was instantly in love with the colors. Black and brown is a favorite color combo for me—so this purchase was a no-brainer.

I put together 5 (and a half😜) ways I’ve been wearing it this fall! I know a bunch of us grabbed it, so I thought it’d be fun to share some outfit ideas. It was restocked in every size yesterday, and it’s already sold out twice—so if it’s on your list, I’d snag it while you can🙌🏽

With a black cardigan + straight leg jeans + chelsea boots

I love how the black cardigan ties in with the corduroy collar on the jacket. The dark wash denim works perfectly here, and I pulled everything together with taupe clogs.

With a tan sweater + barrel jeans + matching clogs

You already know how much I love my barrel jeans—and they pair so well with the barn jacket! I added a soft neutral cotton sweater for a cozy feel and finished it off with chocolate brown clogs.

I’ve had both this cardigan and these pants since last year, and they’re still favorites. I made the look more feminine with black mary jane flats—it’s such a good mix of cozy and put together.

My denim mini skirt is truly a year-round staple. I kept it simple with a black long sleeve and the barn jacket, then showed it with both black chelseas and tall boots. I also think black mary janes (see below!) or tall brown boots would be super cute here too!

For this look, I went with an all-black base—black long sleeve and black wide leg denim—then added the barn jacket and my rustic brown Blundstones. The combo works well, and I know I’ll be wearing these together on repeat.
