Three Ways to Wear Loafers

I’ll be the first to admit that I thought loafers were ugly and not my style. I thought they were too preppy and that there was no way they could fit into my wardrobe.

Well, it just goes to show that tastes change, because I am in love with this beautiful suede pair from Beckett Simonon (gifted). You can read more details on their website, but their shoes are ethically crafted and made to order. They’re incredible quality and just stunning.

I challenged myself to find three ways to style these loafers and I did—all three ways feel comfortable and like “me”, so I think I did pretty good.

I love this look— the wide leg jeans with the cuff make it so different than a normal wide leg jeans look. The browns are all super cohesive and bring it together.

These barrel leg pants are super comfy and I love pairing green and brown together! The cream cashmere sweater has pulls it all together and makes it a great neutral look.

This outfit is giving Parisian vibes and I’m here for it. The silk scarf is a fun find from our vacation to Cape May, NJ last year (I found a super similar one to link). I also love how black and brown pair together, so the pants were a good choice.

All outfits are linked HERE (including a bigger pair of loafers). Loafers linked HERE.

5 ways to layer a white tee & jeans for winter

A white tee & jeans is a great base for pretty much any season and time of the year. if I don’t know what to wear, a good place to start is putting on these two items and going from there.

Layering items, changing out shoes, and adding different accessories changes up the look entirely and certainly proves that you don’t need a whole lot of different clothes to have a versatile wardrobe. I’m wearing a short sleeve tee shirt in these photos, but I think a long sleeve tee would work as well, and it would add some extra warmth.

I will link each outfit below each photo. I do use affiliate links and this just means that if you purchase something using these links, I make a small commission at no additional cost to you. It helps support this blog and my family and I always appreciate it. Thank you!

The first look is layering a cardigan sweater over a white tee. I chose to button mine up, but you could also leave it unbuttoned if you prefer. This cardigan is part of a matching set from Amazon and I’m a big fan of this color.

I paired the cardigan with my Birkenstock Boston clogs and some layered necklaces.

This look turned out better than I expected— a black denim jacket with black Chelsea boots and a black leather purse. I love how simple it is, but it feels super put together. I think changing the denims out would look really great too (a blue denim jacket and black jeans). T

his jacket is from Kut from the Kloth and is very comfy with a good amount of stretch to it.

For this look, I just layered this taupe brown sweater over a white tee. I’m a big fan of how the collar of a white tee looks when it peeks out from under a crewneck. This sweater is 100% cotton and one of my favorites from Quince— it comes in so many colors.

To keep it matching and functional, I wore my blundstone boots. These are the 1306 boots in rustic brown. I have oiled them with mink oil several times, so they do look darker than when I originally bought them.

These last two outfits are the same outfit with two different scarves— I am really into a bright pop of fun color lately, but I know not everyone is, so I wanted to add a neutral option as well.

I truly love both outfits and would wear each of them, depending on how I’m feeling and wanting to look. Both scarves are from Amazon and two of my favorites. The shacket is also from Amazon and I own it in this green and also the taupe color.

I know it’s controversial, but I like to wear my bearpaw slippers as shoes out and about. I feel like they match my cozy, comfy, casual vibe and they’re also super cute.

The neutral scarf outfit is linked HERE.

Nine Ways to Wear a Black Satin Slip Skirt

To be honest, I didn’t think slip skirts were for me. I felt like they showed too much of my imperfections (aka–my lower “mom pooch”), and I didn’t really think I could find any ways to style them that I would like.
I decided to try one and much to my surprise, I love it! Sure, it may highlight my lower stomach a bit, but it’s extremely comfortable and the fabric is so fun! The black makes it super versatile, and the longer length is perfect for the cooler months. This skirt is from OGL Move (use MARISSA15 for $$ off), but I will also link similar options.

I love how the slip skirt looks with a brown turtleneck and pointed toe heels– very classy! This outfit is linked HERE.

I thought adding a graphic tee to the slip skirt would be so fun! I paired it with the same pair of heels, but you could do sneakers or boots too! This outfit is linked HERE.

I LOVE this textured top from amazon (it’s a Free People lookalike) and the duster cardigan makes it appropriate for the cooler weather. I added boots for warmth as well! This outfit is linked HERE.

This tie strap tank is older (so I linked a similar bodysuit), but this look is perfect for a holiday party or fancier event. The heels add some shine and interest as well! This outfit is linked HERE.

I love warm cognac browns and think they pair so nicely with black. The matching of the sweater, boots, and bag ties it all together nicely. This outfit is linked HERE.

This outfit is comfy yet cute! This cardigan is already a workhorse in my wardrobe, I’ve worn it a ton in the short time I’ve had it. I would also wear this outfit with taupe boots! This outfit is linked HERE.

You can’t go wrong with all black and I love adding pops of cognac to an otherwise monochromatic outfit. This outfit is linked HERE.

A cropped sweater works beautifully with a midi/maxi skirt and this one from target is GOOD! I own it in two colors and wear it often. This outfit is linked HERE.

This all black look is super fun with a faux wrap top. My top is older, but I will link a super similar option. This outfit is linked HERE.

Do you own a slip skirt yet? How would you style it?
