Five Ways to Wear a Slip Skirt

I feel like a slip skirt is such a great twist on a regular maxi/midi skirt! The satin material elevates it and truly makes it the star of the outfit. This green color makes it even more fun.

I loved styling this slip skirt with a bunch of my neutral tops and adding different & fun shoes & bags to change up the look!

Five Ways to Wear a Lime Green Sweater for Fall

If you’ve been around for any length of time, you know that this lime green color has become a STAPLE in my wardrobe. I love it so much & really want to wear it everyday. Of course, it’s not always easy knowing how to style such a vibrant color, so I’ve got you covered with five versatile outfits that balance warmth, comfort, and style.

1. Wide-Leg Pants, Mary Jane’s, and a Crossbody Bag: Style with navy or black wide-leg pants and add a colorful crossbody bag. The pop of color pairs well with the lime green, adding a unique color combo.

2. Patterned Midi Dress and Boots: Layer the sweater over a black and white patterned midi dress and knee-high brown boots. The contrast of the lime green against the neutral tones adds a modern touch while staying cozy.

3. Jeans and Statement Scarf: Wear the sweater with medium wash jeans and add a bold, colorful scarf. This brings vibrancy to the outfit and layers up for warmth, making it great for colder days.

4. Corduroy Pants and Clogs: For a cozy, retro look, pair the sweater with brown corduroy pants. The texture and warmth of the corduroy enhance the fall feel, and it looks effortlessly stylish.

5. Go Monochromatic: For a more playful look, layer the sweater with a matching green dress and tall brown boots. This keeps the outfit light but perfect for milder fall days.

A Few October Outfits

There were lots of great layering weather type of days at the end of October, and then a little bit of warm weather crept in and I had to pull out my tanks & sandals again, haha. It’s okay though—I was able to keep the color palette fall-like and stay true to that. I did enjoy the warm days and sun —winter is coming so I’m well aware the sun won’t be out nearly as much!

A Week of Teacher Outfits (or business-casual jobs)

I haven’t been in the classroom in about 10 years, but one of my favorite parts about teaching was putting together outfits that felt like me and were still teacher-appropriate. I even took outfit photos back then! I’ve always loved having a reason to get dressed up?

Of course, every district has different rules so if these don’t work for you, I understand and you can modify these if needed.

I know there are LOTS of teacher style accounts out there, and when I get requests for teacher style I point to them, (two of my FAVORITES are @scarfandamug and @happykickss – they do an AMAZING job of adding their personality and fun into their teacher outfits!) but I had fun putting together these teacher outfits that were requested by many of you— let me know if you want to see more!

At the conclusion of the blog post, I’ll include links to everything (or a comparable option if it’s from an older piece, as mentioned in the LTK details). Outfit 1: wearing size xs petite in the lime green sweater and my black and white floral midi dress is older so l linked similar options. My tall brown boots are discontinued so l linked similar. The bolo tie is a fun Etsy find!

Outfit 2: wearing size 4 in the orange wide leg pants (I need a smaller size— I bought these when I was heavier) and size medium in the brown cardigan sweater.

Outfit 3: wearing size small in this floral midi dress (more maxi on me because I’m petite). My tall brown boots are older so l linked similar ones.

Outfit 4: wearing a size small in the graphic tee (use MARISSA20 for $$ off) and small in the “cardigan” (it’s the dress from the last outfit, below?? ). My black wide leg jeans are size 0 and I cut them off because I’m short. My black Chelsea boots fit true to size and are so comfy.

Outfit 5: wearing size small in this black button front dress (buttons are functional as you can see in outfit 4!) and 6.5 in the tall black boots. My boho silk scarf is older so I linked similar styles.
