Outfit Roundup: Petite-Friendly Transitional Looks

As winter slowly shifts to spring, dressing for unpredictable weather can be tricky. This month, my outfits have been all about layering and mixing cozy textures with different fabrics, and finding that perfect balance between being warm and looking cute.

The key to transitional dressing is versatility—choosing pieces that work for chilly mornings but don’t feel too heavy when the afternoon gets warm.

Layering has been my go-to strategy, whether it’s pairing a soft knit with a cute scarf or styling a warm cardigan over a simple tee. Denim remains a staple piece, and I’ve been playing with different silhouettes, from relaxed straight-leg jeans to a denim skirt and tights for a look that’s cute but still winter-appropriate.

Pops of color continue to be a favorite, with rich reds and deep greens adding warmth to a somewhat neutral palette.

I love how these outfits reflect the season’s transition—cozy but not overly bundled. As we move closer to spring, I’ll be swapping out heavier knits for lighter layers (hello linen & cotton) and experimenting with new textures (knit tanks, linen pants, and lightweight sweaters).

What’s your go-to transitional outfit this time of year?

Four Pairs of Pants I Would Wear if I Worked in an Office or as a Teacher

I am currently a stay at home mom, but I used to teach prekindergarten, and every once in awhile I like to put together some outfits that I would wear if I was still teaching or working in an office environment.

If you prefer video content, the reel is HERE.

These outfits DO lean on the more casual side, but you could certainly decide to dress them up with heels, jewelry, blouses, and other accessories to make them feel more like you. I decided to keep things simple to really showcase the pants.

Below each photo, you’ll find links to the featured pieces or similar alternatives if the originals are unavailable, all through LTK. These are affiliate links, meaning I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase—at no extra cost to you. Your support means so much to me!

I have owned the wide leg pair of these pants for a few years now, but I lost some weight and they don’t fit anymore. I accidently ordered the straight leg pair to replace them and loved them and kept them. I paired the orange pants with a cream sweater and balmy blundstone boots.

I love a black/washed black pair of pants and this wide leg pair is as cute as they are comfy! The large pockets add some fun interest they’re a great length for petites!

I know we’re starting to get into spring and out of corduroy pants season, but this pair is so good! The color is a mix between a green and a brown and they’re so soft and comfy.

I’ve owned these pants the longest and love the color. A light olive green is a favorite of mine. I bought these when I was heavier, so I could probably size down at this point, but they’re a comfy and loose fit.

Would you wear these outfits as a teacher or in an office?
