1 Chunky Knit Cardigan Styled 3 Ways

I know, I know, it’s only the first day of September and I’m already talking about cardigans, fall & boots, BUT I live in northern NY, and it’s felt like fall here for over a week now. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure we’ll have another warm-up and I’ll be back in a swimsuit by next week, but if it feels like fall, I am DRESSING FOR FALL. Because honestly, fall is the best season to dress for (in my opinion ;)) and it doesn’t last long enough!

The cardigan I am styling is an oversized bobble sleeve cardigan from chicwish. I am wearing the xs/small and it fits large, but it is so cozy and well-made. It’s a heavy knit & is perfect for fall and winter if you live in a cold climate like I do!

All the links for my outfits will be at the bottom of this post.

I paired the cardigan with this boho blouse I recently got at target. I am obsessed with this blouse & will be wearing it constantly. I’m wearing my Just Black denim from my latest FlipFit box (more on that in my instagram highlights under Flipfit, if you’re interested!) and they are so good. I haven’t been able to find a link for them, but I will link a similar Target pair. My mules are also old, but I’m linking a great pair on sale for $30 from Nordstrom Rack.

Spoiler alert: this is my favorite outfit of this styling session. I love a dress with a cardigan and booties. I also love pairing black with brown to give it a warm feel! So cozy. Dress is old from Old Navy, but it’s such a classic Old Navy silhouette and I was able to find a similar one to link! Sock boots are also old, but I linked similar since they are everywhere right now too.

Final look is skinny jeans, perforated booties, and a gray tank with a lace neckline detail. I don’t wear skinny jeans that often right now (I find straight leg more comfortable) but I DO love skinnies with a chunky cardigan so I had to style this outfit!

Tell me your favorite outfit in the comments or over on my Instagram!

Enjoying the Life in Between

Summer is usually our really busy season— seeing people, taking trips & doing fun things as a family. We haven’t done much of that this year due to travel restrictions and caution concerning covid19.
It’s easy to feel like we missed out on a special summer, but when all is said & done, we’ve actually made some really great memories as a little family during this time.
My husband has been home due to coronavirus layoffs and my son and I have enjoyed having him here with us. We’ve gotten numerous projects done including a shed built, rooms painted, dump runs, starting this blog (!!), a vegetable & a flower garden planted, and carpets shampooed. It’s been a fruitful season along with a season of lots of time spent together. Playground trips, rollerblading, berry picking (strawberries, blueberries, and black raspberries!), hiking, and all sorts of other fun things. There have been so many special “small” moments.

Air & Anchor recently sent me over these bracelets. They are a jewelry company who’s mission is to “enjoy the life in between”. They created these pieces as wearable reminders to look for and savor those small moments. I love that concept because honestly, the small moments are what really make your life ✨(and it doesn’t hurt to have beautiful jewelry that helps you remember that 😉)

My bracelets are the vintage gold color (they also come in silver) and they are so beautiful! I love the button that makes the bracelets customizable because it makes the bracelet fit my wrist perfectly!

These would be a perfect gift for moms, sisters, mother-in-laws- grandmothers, etc. The reminder is a good one and the look is stunning!

Sawyer Laine Boutique

Sawyer Laine Boutique (which is based out of Wellsville, NY) is a boutique that has the cutest boho inspired clothing! We recently collaborated & they sent me some items to style. It was so fun to style the items they picked out for me.

I am so grateful to partner with boutiques & smaller shops & do my part to support and promote small businesses!

I linked the items that are available, but things do sell out fast & they don’t restock often in order to ensure people get unique pieces. If you love something from this boutique, pick it up fast and use my code MARISSA15 for 15% off!

this pink utility romper is a gorgeous color and is silky and comfortable!
these acid wash shorts are so fun and totally 80’s! Unfortunately, they are sold out.
this bralette is sooo pretty & it is still available in the gray color. I love bralettes for under sweaters, tanks, and tees.
this floral skirt is perfect for fall and has a fun feature of suspenders. I’m not cool enough to wear those, but they would be super fun for a boho funky look. This skirt is sold out, but if it ends up coming back I will link it!
faux leather leggings are super trendy right now. I know that the Spanx ones are well-loved but they are pricey. These ones are high-waisted and feel so comfy! These are part of the fall release & are not available yet, but when they are I will link them!

Flower picking

We went flower picking at a farm near us. They plant flower fields for the bees & other pollinators & allow the public to come & pick the flowers for free. It’s so much fun!

My son absolutely loves picking flowers, so he was completely in his element!
