Three Ways to Wear Loafers

I’ll be the first to admit that I thought loafers were ugly and not my style. I thought they were too preppy and that there was no way they could fit into my wardrobe.

Well, it just goes to show that tastes change, because I am in love with this beautiful suede pair from Beckett Simonon (gifted). You can read more details on their website, but their shoes are ethically crafted and made to order. They’re incredible quality and just stunning.

I challenged myself to find three ways to style these loafers and I did—all three ways feel comfortable and like “me”, so I think I did pretty good.

I love this look— the wide leg jeans with the cuff make it so different than a normal wide leg jeans look. The browns are all super cohesive and bring it together.

These barrel leg pants are super comfy and I love pairing green and brown together! The cream cashmere sweater has pulls it all together and makes it a great neutral look.

This outfit is giving Parisian vibes and I’m here for it. The silk scarf is a fun find from our vacation to Cape May, NJ last year (I found a super similar one to link). I also love how black and brown pair together, so the pants were a good choice.

All outfits are linked HERE (including a bigger pair of loafers). Loafers linked HERE.

3 Ways to Layer a Striped Top in the Winter

A striped top is a must in any wardrobe. It is a great layering piece that adds interest no matter the season– a striped tank in the summer, a tee in the spring, and a long sleeve in the fall & winter.
I think the most versatile colors are black (or dark navy!) and white but you could choose whatever colors go best with your wardrobe. I picked up this one at Walmart & it is all sold out at this point, but I will link similar options as a striped long sleeve top is fairly easy to find.

I will be layering this striped top three different ways but keeping the base the same–striped top, straight leg jeans, & sock booties.

If you prefer video content, check out my styling reel HERE!

As always, I will link the items I am wearing (or similar if unavailable!) using affiliate links. This means I get a small commission if you choose to shop using my links & it will be no additional cost to you. Thanks! 🙂

This first look is certainly “on-trend”–layering using a shirt jacket, or shacket, as the kids are calling them these days. I really love the shacket trend because I live in Northern NY where it is COLD, so an extra warm layer that is also cute works great! This one is from Amazon and has been one of my favorite shackets to style all winter long!

This second look has a crew neck sweatshirt layered over the striped top. It’s comfy, it’s cute, it’s casual. What more could you want? This cute one from amazon has a tulip hem (easier to see when I link it below) & is a great color.

The third look is a classic–a cardigan and stripes is a tale as old as time. I love a good cardigan outfit & even better if it’s neutral tones. Mine is old, but I linked a bunch of tan/taupe options below.

Which look is your favorite?
Do you like to layer or is it too bulky for you?

Three Different Ways to Style a Utility Jacket for Fall

A utility jacket is a classic wardrobe staple. It can be worn in (almost) all seasons, depending where you live. I own a green one, which seems to be pretty classic, but they come in all sorts of great colors (I’m loving the burnt orange one from target!). I wear mine in spring, summer & fall & it is so versatile. I bought my jacket years ago, when I was still in college, from Old Navy. It has held up well for me and I will be linking similar options. Old Navy has a bunch of different green jackets in different styles including cropped, long, hooded, soft twill, & more utility-like materials. They also come in all sorts of colors & make me want to buy a new one in pink or gray! Ha!

(this post contains affiliate links, which means I may make commission if you choose to buy something through the links I share. It won’t cost you anything extra & I appreciate your support!)

I am styling my jacket three different ways. I hope that this will give you some inspiration for styling any style or color utility jacket you own! (I apologize in advance for my dusty mirror, I didn’t realize until after how absolutely dusty it was!)

  1. With stripes
I feel like this is the most classic of all. Who doesn’t love a good army green color with stripes?! I paired it with my power straight jeans and my brown mules.

2. With a dress or a skirt
I loveeee a jacket with a skirt or dress. It gives it more casual vibes and keeps you warm. This skirt is new from Old Navy and I am in love with the print! I thought the green and the rust color of this skirt paired nicely together.

3. With leggings & a graphic tee
The most casual outfit of them all, but so very cute! You could also switch out regular leggings for a faux pair with booties just to step it up a bit. This casual graphic tee is the perfect color for fall & says “Talk Pumpkin Spice to me”.
My sneakers are sold out, unfortunately, but I will link some similar options.

1 Chunky Knit Cardigan Styled 3 Ways

I know, I know, it’s only the first day of September and I’m already talking about cardigans, fall & boots, BUT I live in northern NY, and it’s felt like fall here for over a week now. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure we’ll have another warm-up and I’ll be back in a swimsuit by next week, but if it feels like fall, I am DRESSING FOR FALL. Because honestly, fall is the best season to dress for (in my opinion ;)) and it doesn’t last long enough!

The cardigan I am styling is an oversized bobble sleeve cardigan from chicwish. I am wearing the xs/small and it fits large, but it is so cozy and well-made. It’s a heavy knit & is perfect for fall and winter if you live in a cold climate like I do!

All the links for my outfits will be at the bottom of this post.

I paired the cardigan with this boho blouse I recently got at target. I am obsessed with this blouse & will be wearing it constantly. I’m wearing my Just Black denim from my latest FlipFit box (more on that in my instagram highlights under Flipfit, if you’re interested!) and they are so good. I haven’t been able to find a link for them, but I will link a similar Target pair. My mules are also old, but I’m linking a great pair on sale for $30 from Nordstrom Rack.

Spoiler alert: this is my favorite outfit of this styling session. I love a dress with a cardigan and booties. I also love pairing black with brown to give it a warm feel! So cozy. Dress is old from Old Navy, but it’s such a classic Old Navy silhouette and I was able to find a similar one to link! Sock boots are also old, but I linked similar since they are everywhere right now too.

Final look is skinny jeans, perforated booties, and a gray tank with a lace neckline detail. I don’t wear skinny jeans that often right now (I find straight leg more comfortable) but I DO love skinnies with a chunky cardigan so I had to style this outfit!

Tell me your favorite outfit in the comments or over on my Instagram!
