Outfit round up for mid January

I’ve been sick for almost a full week and I’m finally starting to feel a bit better! I seemed to get a few sicknesses on top of each other, so it made it all a bit more difficult. My husband ended up catching some of it too, so we’ve been resting on the couch as much as possible while our children rule the house 😉

Needless to say, I don’t have any new outfits from the past week, but I do have outfits from the week before that I’ll share!

As always, I will link each outfit under each picture. I do use affiliate links, this just means that if you choose to purchase using one of my links, I earn a small commission, at no additional cost to you. I appreciate the support as it helps me run this blog and to keep sharing style inspiration!

I have been really into this bright/lime green since the summer & have bought multiple pieces in this color. I recently saw that it is Stitch Fix’s color of the year as well!

Cozy sweatpants are a go-to for me in the cold winter months. I love pairing them with a sweater & my Birkenstock clogs.

I know there’s a lot of chatter about skinny jeans being “out”, but I l’ve kept all of mine. Admittedly, I don’t wear them as often as my other styles of jeans, but you just can’t beat the comfiness of a pair of skinny jeans and boots with an oversized sweater!

An oversized crewneck & leggings is the perfect outfit for a snowy day. Pair it with comfy slippers and you’ve got a big win.

I’m super into green lately! I’ve always loved it, but I’m really loving pairing different shades together.

I finally found a great denim jacket that works well for petites. This one falls at a perfect spot & has a comfy amount of stretch to it.

Six Ways to Wear Wide Leg Jeans for the Cooler Months

Wide leg jeans are back in a big way and I’m so excited. Alternatively, they can be called flare jeans or bootcut jeans, but it doesn’t matter what you call them–they’re cute! They remind me so much of my teen years because that’s all I wore before skinny jeans were introduced! I am excited to style and wear them because I think they can be so flattering on everyone and also very comfortable.

In these six outfits, I am wearing some sort of heeled shoe. I have found that the best way for me to not have the wide leg jean problem where you step on your hem and then it gets all wet, dirty, and frayed, is to have two different pairs of wide leg jeans– one pair that you wear with heeled shoes, and one pair that you wear with flat shoes. Let me know if you’d like to see a “ways to style wide leg jeans with flat shoes” post and I’d be happy to do that.

If you prefer video content, you can watch the reel HERE.

The first way is with a black top (mine is a mock neck bodysuit) and a long duster cardigan. I have black pointed toe heels on here, but you could certainly switch them out for black heeled boots instead! This outfit is linked HERE.

In this second look I am wearing a taupe long sleeve tee and a quilted vest. I found this vest on etsy and it’s just so cute and makes any outfit fun! I paired it with my taupe sock booties from Vivaia (mine are a sold out pair, but I linked a similar pair). This outfit is linked HERE.

I just love the colors in this third look– so warm and fall like. This sweater is a heavier weight and has a textured feel and I love the boxy, oversized fit. I paired it with the leather honey colored festival bag from Portland Leather Goods and brown leather block heel boots. This outfit is linked HERE.

I’m wearing the taupe long sleeve tee again in this fourth look and I layered with this taupe sweater vest. I added my sock booties to sort of make an “outfit sandwich” (this term means using the same color on the top and bottom to really bring your outfit together cohesively). This outfit is linked HERE.

In this outfit I am wearing a cozy oversized grey turtleneck (IMO: turtlenecks ALWAYS look great with wide leg pants), and these olive colored madison cork clogs from Aetrex. This outfit is so comfy and has a librarian like feel to it. This outfit is linked HERE.

For my last outfit, I am wearing this Quince cardigan as a top and I tucked it in to make me look taller. My boots match quite well with it and it brings it all together nicely. This outfit is linked HERE.

How to Wear a Black Puffer Vest

I bought this black puffer vest from amazon in the fall & it has been one of my favorite items! I throw it on for errands & I feel like it instantly makes me look cooler, haha. It also is AWESOME for mamas with small kids because you have a little more mobility when it comes to carrying them around and such. I stuck to my true size but if you’re taller than me you may want to size up because it is a more cropped style.

I put together this blog post with photos of a bunch of ways I’ve worn it so far. I’m not going to link everything in this blog post, but I think all of these outfits have already been posted on my liketoknow.it & you can find the links there.
