An all black outfit for spring

Something I love, in ALL SEASONS, is an all black outfit. It’s always chic and looks so put together.

Here is my version of an all black outfit for spring—I love this top—it’s stretchy and comfy while also being super flattering! I paired it with wide leg jeans (I cut mine off because I am 5’1”), and Mary Jane shoes.

I think the whole thing turned out great and my first thought is that I would wear it for a spring date night — maybe throwing a black denim jacket over it for a cooler night🖤

Loved pairing my custom made vest from Etsy with these fun Levi jeans and a boho top!

I purchased this little crop tee with ruched sides from old navy (I sized up to medium) because I thought it would be so cute with high waisted bottoms like jeans, linen pants, and skirts!

This knobby knit sweater is so cozy, bulky, and cute. I own it in two colors!

My friend Christina (her insta handle is @scarfandamug) wore a Canadian tuxedo and gave me the inspiration for this outfit. I loved it!

This outfit is pretty causal but the wrap top makes it slightly more elevated, along with the printed socks.

Just a cozy hoodie with flare leggings— a cold winter day outfit perfection!

I LOVED pairing a green graphic tee with my green linen pants— will definitely be wearing a summer version of this outfit with linen shorts!

Six Ways to Wear Wide Leg Jeans for the Cooler Months

Wide leg jeans are back in a big way and I’m so excited. Alternatively, they can be called flare jeans or bootcut jeans, but it doesn’t matter what you call them–they’re cute! They remind me so much of my teen years because that’s all I wore before skinny jeans were introduced! I am excited to style and wear them because I think they can be so flattering on everyone and also very comfortable.

In these six outfits, I am wearing some sort of heeled shoe. I have found that the best way for me to not have the wide leg jean problem where you step on your hem and then it gets all wet, dirty, and frayed, is to have two different pairs of wide leg jeans– one pair that you wear with heeled shoes, and one pair that you wear with flat shoes. Let me know if you’d like to see a “ways to style wide leg jeans with flat shoes” post and I’d be happy to do that.

If you prefer video content, you can watch the reel HERE.

The first way is with a black top (mine is a mock neck bodysuit) and a long duster cardigan. I have black pointed toe heels on here, but you could certainly switch them out for black heeled boots instead! This outfit is linked HERE.

In this second look I am wearing a taupe long sleeve tee and a quilted vest. I found this vest on etsy and it’s just so cute and makes any outfit fun! I paired it with my taupe sock booties from Vivaia (mine are a sold out pair, but I linked a similar pair). This outfit is linked HERE.

I just love the colors in this third look– so warm and fall like. This sweater is a heavier weight and has a textured feel and I love the boxy, oversized fit. I paired it with the leather honey colored festival bag from Portland Leather Goods and brown leather block heel boots. This outfit is linked HERE.

I’m wearing the taupe long sleeve tee again in this fourth look and I layered with this taupe sweater vest. I added my sock booties to sort of make an “outfit sandwich” (this term means using the same color on the top and bottom to really bring your outfit together cohesively). This outfit is linked HERE.

In this outfit I am wearing a cozy oversized grey turtleneck (IMO: turtlenecks ALWAYS look great with wide leg pants), and these olive colored madison cork clogs from Aetrex. This outfit is so comfy and has a librarian like feel to it. This outfit is linked HERE.

For my last outfit, I am wearing this Quince cardigan as a top and I tucked it in to make me look taller. My boots match quite well with it and it brings it all together nicely. This outfit is linked HERE.

crochet sweater and wide leg jeans outfit (and jewelry that makes a difference)

This cute little sweater from target is perfect as we head into spring. It’s definitely a cropped fit, so size up if you’re looking for a more regular length. I am wearing a size medium, for reference.

I also love these wide leg jeans from Madewell. I think this particular pair has sold out, but I will share some similar options below.

I wanted to also share these earrings from Sela Designs. They are a company that donates 100% of their profits to charity because they believe in radical generosity & giving to others like God does with us. Their jewelry is handmade, high quality, & lovely! I’ll be sharing more pieces soon. You can use MARISSA10 for $$ off your purchase. These are the Oakleigh earrings & they’re made with leather so they’re very lightweight & wearable.
