Tops to Wear with Barrel Jeans

Okayyy, so you grabbed the barrel jeans and yes—they’re insanely comfy—but now you’re staring at your closet like… what do I even wear with these?! Don’t worry, I’ve got you. Here are 5 cozy tops I’m pairing with mine for cooler weather!

If you prefer video content, watch the reel HERE.

As always, everything I’m wearing is linked under each photo. If something is older or sold out, I’ll do my best to link something similar—you’ll see a note in the LTK app if it’s not the exact item. 1. A basic long sleeve

A basic long sleeve top is the easiest one to think of, in my opinion. A basic long sleeve looks great tucked into a pair of barrel jeans. Add a necklace, scarf, or vest or accessory to make it even more fun!

2. A sweater

your sweater can be a crewneck, a v-neck, a boat neck or any type. Mine is a crewneck and it’s a little more oversized with a kind of high-low hem. It’s one of my favorites and I think it looks so cozy with barrel jeans.

3. A cardigan (unbuttoned as a layer or buttoned as a top)

A cardigan is one of my favorite layering pieces. Throw it over a tank, a tee, or a long sleeve and you’re super cozy. In the last few years I’ve also started wearing cardigans as tops, which is a great way to get more wear out of your cardigans!

4. A sweatshirt

I’m wearing a crewneck sweatshirt here, but it can be a henley sweatshirt, a 1/2 zip sweatshirt, or whichever type is your favorite. I think this is a cute and casual look paired with the barrel jeans.

5. A blouse

I don’t have a whole lot of blouses in my wardrobe, but I do like to have a few for an easy and cute top to pair with jeans. This green one has a more cropped fit, so it pairs well with the barrel jeans. If I was wearing a less cropped blouse, I would probably do a little front tuck.

Oversized Flannels and 4 Easy Ways to Style Them

Maybe it’s the millennial in me, but you can’t get me to stop wearing flannels. I’ve always loved one and I always will😉

These 4 flannels are perfect! I love an oversized flannel fit (I usually steal my husbands🙈) so when these came and had this perfect oversized fit, I was in loveeee. They’re a more lightweight flannel, so they’re great for layering without getting too hot.

If you prefer video content, the reel is HERE.

Here are 4 ways I’m wearing these flannels this fall (and beyond!):

Flannel outfit 1:

jeans + tee + flannel + sneakers

since deciding to become a “sneaker girl”, I’ve found that there are lots of ways to wear them that aren’t necessarily sporty! This is one of them! I think they look so cute with a pair of comfy denim (I’ve had and loved this pair for over a year) and a tee and flannel! I’d add a crossbody bag to this look and head out the door!

Flannel outfit 2:

black base + flannel + chelsea boots

I loved this one because I always love starting with a black base and building from there! You can really do so much with a classic black base. This flannel has black in it, so it pairs perfectly with the black base.

Flannel outfit 3:

jeans + tee + flannel + clogs

This one’s just so easy and classic—jeans, clogs and a flannel are a go-to for me! Last week I wore this same outfit but added a graphic tee instead of a basic tee and that was so cute too! Playing around with your outfits always pays off in the long run. It gives you confidence to style things differently!

Flannel outfit 4:

leggings + flannel + slipper clogs

This is the perfect cozy outfit for at home (or maybe a casual Thanksgiving?!). If it’s colder you can definitely add socks or trade the slipper clogs out for boots or regular clogs. I loved all the colors in this flannel—it’ll go with so much!
