Wide leg jeans are back in a big way and I’m so excited. Alternatively, they can be called flare jeans or bootcut jeans, but it doesn’t matter what you call them–they’re cute! They remind me so much of my teen years because that’s all I wore before skinny jeans were introduced! I am excited to style and wear them because I think they can be so flattering on everyone and also very comfortable.
In these six outfits, I am wearing some sort of heeled shoe. I have found that the best way for me to not have the wide leg jean problem where you step on your hem and then it gets all wet, dirty, and frayed, is to have two different pairs of wide leg jeans– one pair that you wear with heeled shoes, and one pair that you wear with flat shoes. Let me know if you’d like to see a “ways to style wide leg jeans with flat shoes” post and I’d be happy to do that.
If you prefer video content, you can watch the reel HERE.
The first way is with a black top (mine is a mock neck bodysuit) and a long duster cardigan. I have black pointed toe heels on here, but you could certainly switch them out for black heeled boots instead! This outfit is linked HERE.
In this second look I am wearing a taupe long sleeve tee and a quilted vest. I found this vest on etsy and it’s just so cute and makes any outfit fun! I paired it with my taupe sock booties from Vivaia (mine are a sold out pair, but I linked a similar pair). This outfit is linked HERE.
I just love the colors in this third look– so warm and fall like. This sweater is a heavier weight and has a textured feel and I love the boxy, oversized fit. I paired it with the leather honey colored festival bag from Portland Leather Goods and brown leather block heel boots. This outfit is linked HERE.
I’m wearing the taupe long sleeve tee again in this fourth look and I layered with this taupe sweater vest. I added my sock booties to sort of make an “outfit sandwich” (this term means using the same color on the top and bottom to really bring your outfit together cohesively). This outfit is linked HERE.
In this outfit I am wearing a cozy oversized grey turtleneck (IMO: turtlenecks ALWAYS look great with wide leg pants), and these olive colored madison cork clogs from Aetrex. This outfit is so comfy and has a librarian like feel to it. This outfit is linked HERE.
For my last outfit, I am wearing this Quince cardigan as a top and I tucked it in to make me look taller. My boots match quite well with it and it brings it all together nicely. This outfit is linked HERE.
I ordered these pants last year from Quince (which is a sustainable, affordable, & ethical brand) & I ended up having to re-order two sizes up because of how high-waisted they are and how they fit my body. They are super comfortable now and so cute! I have been wanting a pair of pants in this burnt orange color that I can wear in all seasons, and these are perfect. They’re finally back in stock and linked HERE.
Everything I am wearing (and similar options for older/sold out items) are linked at the bottom of this post.
We’re having a bit of an extra-long summer where I live, which means my warmer weather clothing and shoes get an extended stay in my closet and more chances to be worn. I’m totally okay with it though, because I love slip on shoe and sandal season. I have two great pairs of slip-on shoes to share from Newbella (shoes were gifted, but all thoughts & reviews are my own).
This first pair is an open toe mule style sandal. They’re the MOUSSE FIT Women Knit Detail Chunky Mule Sandals. I’m wearing them in the yellow, which adds a fun pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit. I had a hard time deciding between the green and the yellow– both colors are so fun! They’re soft and stretchy and the square toe is currently very on trend. They have a small block heel which makes them perfect to wear for all occasions–with dresses, skirts, jeans, or trousers!
The second pair of shoes I want to share are the MOUSSE FIT Women Knit Detail Flat Sandals. Again, they’re a comfortable slip on shoe and they’re made with a soft stretchy upper and a rubber sole. I chose the neutral apricot color, but again the green was a contender, and I also loved the look of the black. These are the PERFECT pair of shoes to slip on with any type of outfit. I paired them with jeans and a long duster cardigan, but they would look equally as cute with a dress or a skirt.

I wear jewelry just about every day, and my favorite pieces are typically simple, yellow gold pieces. They add interest, personality, sparkle, and make me feel more put together. If you’re interested in adding classic, simple, and beautiful jewelry to your collection, this blog post is a great resource. It will feature my favorite jewelry pieces and brands that I believe are worth exploring.
For me, necklaces are my most worn pieces–I have about 6-8 necklaces I cycle through and then I generally wear a simple pair of hoops most days (I have two favorites). There are 3 brands that I typically wear the most, & I’ll be sharing my everyday go-to pieces and the pieces I wear when I want to dress up a little more.
The first brand I want to mention is Sela Designs. Sela Designs is a remarkable brand that deserves recognition for its outstanding commitment to making a positive impact. Their mission revolves around donating 100% of their profits to charities that aid victims of human trafficking, individuals trapped in poverty, and orphaned children. The combination of their philanthropic efforts and their dedication to crafting ethically made, top-notch jewelry makes them an excellent choice for conscientious customers. As an added bonus, I am thrilled to collaborate with them and share a special discount code with you. By using the code MARISSA10 at checkout, you can enjoy a 10% discount on any purchase from their shop.
The first piece I want to share from Sela Designs is the Everyday Hoop Earrings. These are one of my favorites & most worn pairs of earrings. I love that they are lightweight, simple, and easy to wear. They clip into themselves, (so my hair doesn’t get stuck in them) & they are a perfect amount of thickness to add interest to your outfit.
The second piece I love from Sela Designs are the Ivory Lake Earrings. These earrings are ones I wear when I want to dress up a little bit more and they are stunning– the raffia adds beautiful texture to your outfit and the disks are a neutral bone color.
I own multiple other pairs of earrings from Sela Designs, but the colors I own them in are sold out. I will share the other colors here: The Mia Earrings (I own the black) & the Oakleigh Earrings, which are pictured on the left (I own the cognac).
There are many other pieces from Sela Designs that include more earrings, necklaces, & bracelets, so be sure to check them out!
The second brand I want to share is GLDN. They have an extensive range of amazing pieces, and what’s even more exciting is that a lot of their collection is customizable! This means you can create jewelry that perfectly reflects your personal style. I have had the pleasure of partnering with GLDN in the past, although regrettably, I don’t have a discount code to offer in this blog post. If I am able to secure one in the future, I will update this post and include it here.
I have been wearing GLDN jewelry for 5-6 years. It all began when my husband gifted me with a beautifully crafted necklace from GLDN when they were still solely on Etsy. Since then, I have become a fan and collector of their pieces. In fact, I can confidently say that the majority of the necklaces I wear most frequently are from GLDN. So, needless to say, I have an assortment of their pieces to share with you.
The necklace my husband bought me is the Lucine Necklace. It’s so dainty and gorgeous! I love the hammered open circle detail and how simple and sweet it is. I have it in the 15-17″ option, but I also own a necklace extender that I use when I want to make my shorter necklaces longer. The Mona Necklace is very similar to the one I own, it’s just a smaller circle (9mm instead of 11mm).
The next necklace I wear ALL the time is the Marama Necklace. I customized mine with a hammered finish and mine is the 19-21″ length. It looks great all on its own or layered with any of my other necklaces.
Another favorite is the Small Flora Link Necklace. I had mine customized with my birth month flower and I have the 15-17″. I love that this one is suspended (like the Lucine circle necklace) because it stays in place and doesn’t spin around.
Another necklace I wear often is the Friendship Beads Necklace. I customized mine with 3 beads to represent my two sons and my husband, but you can add up to 7 beads. This necklace is so simple and pretty.
LLUME is the third and final brand I want to share. They are a small brand that creates beautiful and affordable jewelry. A lot of their pieces are meant to mix and match and be worn and styled together. I also love that they offer free shipping and returns! LLUME reached out to me in the past to collaborate and they were kind enough to give me a discount code for this post. You can use the code “MARISSA15” to get 15% off any purchase from their store.
My favorite piece from their store is the Prosecco Beaded Hoop earrings (I am wearing them in the picture to the right, although they’re hard to see). I have owned them for a year now, and I’m not kidding when I say they are my most worn pair of earrings. They’re small, lightweight, and the beaded texture is just too cute. If I wanted to sleep in them I could because they close into themselves and are so comfortable.
The other piece I own from Llume is the Colette Necklace. It’s a simple and dainty gold chain that’s perfect for everyday wear and layering. It looks great on it’s own or combined with other necklaces.
Jewelry is a great way to add some personality and sparkle to any outfit. Whether you prefer delicate pieces or bold statement jewelry, there’s something out there for everyone. What are your favorite jewelry pieces? Let me know in the comments below!
